    本标准规定了测量中、高速发动机振动能力的程序及确定引用数据有效性的频率范围。本标准所述方法不适用于低速发动机。本标准为工程法,不是精确法。试验无论在试验台或现场进行,均需经用户和厂商商定。
    本标准适用于陆用、轨道牵引和船用中、高速往复式内燃机,但不包括农业拖拉机、道路车辆和航空用发动机。本标准可适用于驱动筑路机械、土方机械、工业卡车,以及其他尚无合适国际标准可用的其他用途的发动机。
